Technopreneurship Level 2

Determining the Intelligent Quotient (IQ), Emotional Quotient (EQ) and Adversity Quotient (AQ) is very important. By knowing your personal traits, you can even know better of yourself. Observing one’s personality makes you curious above others. It makes you realize on how you act, socialize and know once behavior. One’s personality is unique above others on how you manage and develop yourself. Sometimes you encountered difficulties on how to interpret our own traits and behavior as a person. In such case, we need to search and know more on how we make ourselves in control.
First of all, what are these?why do we need to know all of these?
What EQ?

-EQ actually stands for emotional intelligence Quotient. Much like an intelligence quotient, or IQ, an EQ is said to be a measure of a person’s emotional intelligence.
- it is actually the measurement of how good are you in terms of handling your feelings towards things.
-it is best describe of how a person deal from another person,it is how the person understands or interacts with another.

What IQ?
-IQ is the acronym for intelligent quotient, and refers to a score given for several standardized intelligence tests.
• is predictors of educational achievement or special needs, test measures mathematical and spatial reasoning, logical ability, and language understanding.
• IQ score may also predict fairly well the degree to which a person may be successful in occupations.
• IQ scores tend to exhibit some racial bias.
• Test scores may be influenced by personal genetic history.

What AQ?
• AQ actually stands for adversity quotient.
AQ is the most scientifically robust and widely used method in the world for measuring and strengthening human resilience.
• Top leaders, industry-leading companies, and governments worldwide use AQ to enhance or transform:Performance,Productivity, Innovation, Agility, Change, Pace,Problem solving,Optimism, Engagement, Morale, Retention,Energy, Hiring, Development, Coaching, People, Leadership and Culture.
My reflections/insights on my personal traits test

We should know all of these because on knowing these, you can determine on how you react from certain happenings in your life. This test aims to inform the test taker who he is as an individual and how he acts in front of his friends or complete stranger.  By definition taken from the internet, personality trait define as the “the unique set of characteristics and qualities that a person uniquely possess”. Though it is stated each of an individual has unique characteristics but there are a few do have the same characteristics but a way that a person implement to combine his traits in a different way makes it to create a unique irreplaceable conglomeration of traits as an individual.

The results:
IQ  Test Result
My Score: 123.
The first kind of personal trait is the Intelligence Quotient. Intelligence Quotient is derived from one of several different standardized tests designed to assess intelligence. This test is used by the schools for entrance examination for the upcoming students. Like here in our school, they use IQ test as I observed and tested. When I took again the exam in the internet, fortunately I was able to get a high score and it was stated “High” in the result. I was amazed by the result but I am aware that intelligence itself can’t be based with by this result only; the word intelligence for me is very broad and has so many fields. There are people who are bad in math but good in other fields, for me, intellectual capacity can be determined through how they make a move in life. Because for me, Life is like the game of “chess”, every move counts and you should plan every move you make, one wrong move can lead to destruction of your dreams. And of course, in life, there comes your opponent, that opponent is your problems, that makes you weak, and that makes you struggle on what move you are going to take next. As we can see, it is like the definition of EQ, but I can still say that it is also like IQ, because the game “chess” is a game of Giants where intellectual people play.

There is no suggestion in order to improve our intelligence quotient rather; it can be improved in our own. We can test our IQ once a month to know if our IQ had improved during our daily activities.
*In the business world, it is not important to have a high Intelligence Quotient. It is needs a high Emotional Quotient. The importance in the business is you know how to deal with the other people. To measure it, you must take an Emotional Quotient Test. I took this test in the internet and again, amazingly I got a pretty high score. And this is the interpretation of my result.

EQ Test Result

My Score: 48
This is how the result defines my score in the test.
45 - 54
Congratulations! You have very high emotional intelligence. This is good news! EQ counts for twice as much as IQ and technical skills combined in determining who will be a star performer. Your level of EQ likely has been and will be a driver of your high performance for years to come. Areas to work on: While you are doing well - don't forget to take time out of your busy day-to-day activities to stop and reflect on what brings you the greatest meaning in your life. If we fail to do this on a regular basis, we risk becoming tranquilized by the trivial. Yes, deadlines need meeting and goals must be achieved. But if we are working toward goals that are not in alignment with our key values and greater purpose, we face becoming hostile and cynical - losing the reason we are doing 'all of this' in this first place! This translates into less joy and enthusiasm for our work - resulting in a diminished ability to be effective, at ease, and on purpose. As William James said: I have no doubt whatever that most people live, whether physically, intellectually, or morally, in a very restricted circle of their potential being. They make use of a very small portion of their possible consciousness... much like a man who, out of his whole body organism, should get into the habit of using and moving only his little finger... We all have reservoirs of life to draw upon, of which we do not dream.
As a reaction to these results, I can say that I had so many experiences in life, through thick and thin, through struggles and happiness, I did surpass it all but I know that there are more to come in my life. I was inspired by this result and hoping for it to be stable in the near future. Having a high EQ means that the person has better ways on how he/she handles/reacts with certain situations he/she is facing towards with. It is defined as how he/she interacts with people that he/she doesn’t know.
There are so many bad things and good things happening in our life. And it can’t be altered, those problems are inevitable and we can’t do anything about it. It’s up to us on how we do something to bring back ourselves again. Some persons are miserable when they encounter such problems. They feel that they are alone and no one understands them can lead to suicidal attempt. But we can’t really say that they are stupid for doing that, let’s think and put ourselves to their situation and then ask ourselves if what we are going to do if we are in they’re position. We can’t really judge them from being like that, those problems in life provokes them to do such things as killing themselves. As for the study, people who are attempting to commit suicide are in low of EQ or Emotional Quotient. They opt to run away from problems instead of doing something to solve it. Sometimes, I can even feel the sadness when someone is not with me or even the depression when I received a low mark of grade in school. As of now, the greatest problem in my life is about one of my subjects. One of our professors gave a project, and I was not aware of the deadline because I think that it can still be passed next week. But news came in, my classmate informs me that the project’s deadline was yesterday and even though that I’m already finished making it, I wasn’t able to pass it. And my classmate added that all students who didn’t pass their projects yesterday will surely receive “INC”, as soon as I’ve read that word, my whole world crushed down, I was so depressed that my urge to do my other assignments were gone. It hurts that I was not inform about the deadline. It hurts more when I reminisce those days and nights I’ve spent making machine problems just to pass this subject. It was my first time to receive a mark of “INC”. And I promised to myself that I wouldn’t dare to have a little bit chance of receiving that kind of grade again. But even now, I can’t still forget or moved on with that, the point that I sacrifice a lot of things just to make that project, but I should really bring back myself again and regain my confidence. That was an example of emotional scene, even though how great problems come to our lives; we should really do something in order to step forward with it. Emotional Quotient deals with emotions of people on how they deal with some scenes in their lives and on how they react and bring back themselves from it.
AQ Test Result:
Your AQ response is comprised of four CORE dimensions.  Understanding them is the first step toward improving your response to adversity, expanding your capacity, and, ultimately, increasing your overall AQ.
My Score: Total C =16   Total O =24  Total R =16  Total E =19
Total C+O+R+E x 2 = ARP Score = 150
The average ARP score is 147.5.
This are the ASPECTS in Adversity Quotient that needs to be improve and must be able to take concern in order to enhance what is need to be enhance.

C = Control

To what extent can you influence the situation? How much control do you perceive you have?
Those with higher AQs perceive they have significantly more control and influence in adverse situations than
do those with lower AQs. Even in situations that appear overwhelming or out of their hands, those with higher
AQs find some facet of the situation they can influence. Those with lower AQs respond as if they have little or
no control and often give up.

O = Ownership

To what extent do you hold yourself responsible for improving this situation? To what extent are you
accountable to play some role in making it better?
Accountability is the backbone of action. Those with higher AQs hold themselves accountable for dealing with
situations regardless of their cause. Those with lower AQs deflect accountability and most often feel
victimized and helpless.

R = Reach

How far does the fallout of this situation reach into other areas of your work or life?To what extent does the
adversity extend beyond the situation at hand?
Keeping the fallout under control and limiting the reach of adversity is essential for efficient and effective
problem solving. Those with higher AQs keep setbacks and challenges in their place, not letting them infest
the healthy areas of their work and lives. Those with lower AQs tend to allow a setback in one area to bleed
into other, unrelated areas and become destructive.

E = Endurance

How long will the adversity endure?
Seeing beyond even enormous difficulties is an essential skill for maintaining hope. Those with higher AQs
have the uncanny ability to see past the most interminable difficulties and maintain hope and optimism. Those
with lower AQs see adversity as dragging on indefinitely, if not permanently.

Dr. Paul Stoltz stated some techniques that we can follow to improve our AQ. LEAD, which stands for Listen, Explore, Analyse and Do. The following are the techniques:

L = listen -- Our typical, normal responses are the result of a lifelong, habitual pattern. So the first thing you need to do is to be able to get a good and quick gut feel or awareness of when adversity is happening. In other words, listen to yourself.

E = explore -- This element stands for exploring both the origin and ownership of the situation. If an individual doesn't feel a sense of ownership, they won't take action.
A = analyze -- It is important to take steps to analyze the evidence and to separate fact from assumptions. You need to examine and dispute any destructive elements of your response. Look at the limitations of the adversity itself, not the limitations you might face to improve the situation.

D = do something -- But do it carefully, do not rush. Think about any additional information you might need, what actions would help to overcome the adversity -- examine the what, where, when and why questions to confirm your goal. Don't just write a list of actions, commit to a time and date.

The Five Major Personality Traits in view of technoprenuership

Although each person has lots of different peculiarities and traits that make up their personality, psychologists have tried to provide a bit of guidance for people to define personality traits and to determine the most important traits. As a result, they have come up with a list of the five major personality traits. These five traits make up the essence of a person's personality. In order to determine your personality, using these five major personality traits, psychologists give you a test that asks a series of questions. The questions may inquire about how you would react in a certain situation, or your comfort level in a given setting. Well in technoprenuership this five major personality traits are quite relevant in achievement the primary goals, below I will cite this five major personality traits and its possible implications in the technoprenuership world.

Openness

Openness refers to how open you are to experiencing new things. Do you enjoy learning new ideas and concepts or are you frightened of change? In the world of technoprenuership, openness must be possessed by the technoprenuer this is because a technoprenuer never stop learning, actually, it should be in regular basis. A successful technoprenuer will always see new things or new ventures to enhance his current assets; he/she will be open for new ideas, innovations, trends and more that will add opportunity to his/her business. Must be aware or updated to the current status of the chosen market, and be sensitive enough for further adjustments. A technoprenuer must enjoy learning new ideas, concepts, and techniques and will not hesitate to apply the change in many cautions.

Conscientiousness

Conscientiousness refers to how dedicated you are. When you say you are going to do something do you follow through? Do you have a strong work ethic? In the world of technoprenuership, Conscientiousness is a must have for technoprenuer this is because a technoprenuer must be dedicated enough in the chosen field of market, he/she needs to know that the market is wide and prone to competitors. When a technoprenuer already planned his/her strategy in achieving his/her goals that technoprenuer must act and follow through according to the plan, and if the primary plan seems not working then Openness of a technoprenuer will enter the scene. We all know that in the business world especially in the technological side has its own numerous pros and cons then Conscientiousness of a technoprenuer will address how strong your work ethic is.

Extraversion

Extraversion asks how comfortable you are in the company of others? Do you prefer to be by yourself or in a crowd? Do you like to be the life of the party? In the world of technoprenuership, relationships whether it be towards your costumers, clients or coworkers are the focal part of being a technoprenuer. Because extraversion in the technoprenuership addresses your conformity with the company of others, a technoprenuer must be acquainted to his/her constituents. Yes, there are times to be alone so that a technoprenuer can realize or contemplate every scenarios for improvements and a technoprenuer will spend most of his/her time with others so a technoprenuer must be flexible on that issue. In general, technoprenuership is not all the time always about “you” but most of the time it is about “them”. A technoprenuer must consider the best for others so that there will be a strong ties between the technoprenuer and others.

Agreeableness

The question that revolves on one’s agreeableness is: do you try to get along with people or do you go out of your way to be contentious and start a fight? Once in our philosophy class, our instructor stressed that you can disagree as long as that you are not disagreeable. Well, a technoprenuer must be always agreeable, a technoprenuer always be the listener and always be attentive to every complaints, dissatisfaction, feedbacks or comments of others and always agree to it though with limitation again a technoprenuer can disagree as long as that he/she is not disagreeble.

Neuroticism

Neuroticism is an enduring tendency to experience negative emotional states, such as anxiety, anger, guilt and depression. Those who score high on neuroticism scales are more likely than average to respond poorly to stress and to interpret situations as threatening or hopelessly difficult. In neuroticism it is concern with the question: How emotionally stable are you? Do you get upset over the little things, or do they roll off your back? In the world of technoprenuership, the state of neuroticism is possibly can affect a technoprenuer. For instance, if his/her market or business seems to be in bankruptcy, or the technoprenuer has the problem of capital, problem of personnel, problem in competitions and lots more. But as a technoprenuer, you should prepare on this ahead of time and there must be a contingent planned in case of bad scenario. A technoprenuer must be emotionally stable and has the patient not to be easily get upset over little things instead has the coping mechanism at hand.

Who is a Technopreneur And a Minipreneur?

Most of us have heard of the word entrepreneur and the meaning that single word conveys. Yes, an entrepreneur is the one who is willing to own and operate and take the risk of operating any business. He is the one who manages all the factors of production to carry on with production. But with time, the purview of the word entrepreneur changed dramatically and it became a comprehensive word signifying a lot of different aspects of business.

Two major extensions of entrepreneurship that has resulted due to the changes in the markets are Technopreneurship and Minipreneurship. The words are self explanatory but let's try to have a look at these words in more detail and try to understand the basic essence of these words. Who exactly is a technopreneur? Well, he could be understood as a new age entrepreneur who makes use of technology to come out with something new or to make some innovation. And once he is successful in it, he exploits his achievement in the market to make money.

What differentiates a technopreneur from any other businessman is the way a technopreneur operates his business. His business is generally marked with a high growth potential and high leverage of knowledge and intellectual property. What is more, he always has a viable exit mechanism.

Then we can have a classic entrepreneur. He is the one who starts his own business. Or you can have a multipreneur who starts a number of companies as per his potential. But the maximum number of entrepreneurs falls in the category of intrapreneur. These are the ones who use their creativity, their knowledge, and their drive in a large corporation. And yes, how can we leave aside a minipreneur. Yes, he is the one who doesn't possess huge capital base to start a large business but is the one who starts a new venture with this limited capital and with the help of that small capital base expands his business to great heights.

If you are thinking of starting a new business venture of your own, you should asses yourself very objectively if you are game for it. For example, if you are thinking to be a technopreneur, you need to have some personal traits that include being ambitious, independent thinking, passionate about your work, self confidence to take bold decisions, commitment to your job, creativity in good doses, having risk taking abilities, and having a vision for future.

So, if you want to be a technopreneur, start with assessing yourself, if you are really for it. And be very honest about it. You can't cheat yourself. What are your interests? Are you really interested in being a technopreneur or are you joining the bandwagon? Do you have the aptitude to be a technopreneur? What are the relative advantages and the disadvantages of being a technopreneur?

You must be very sure of what you want. Another option could be of being a miniprenuer. The best thing about it is that you can continue in your present job and pursue your business in part time. And when you think that you are ready to pursue it full time you should leave your job and do it full time. It all depends on your personal choice and personal willingness.
